Horrible Service

Nowhere near fair. Their service is terrible. We had to have our cable box replaced twice within the first 3 months. Our internet kicks out daily, and when calling tech support about the issue, they simply say to unplug and plug the modem back in which does not help at all. They then say they cannot access my account to provide further service or credit my account.There is no reason that service should kick out daily when I pay this price for internet. I have never had problems like this with any other service provider! I definitely will never recommend this company to anyone.

Horrible service

We have had constant problems with our Internet kicking out and when calling for help they tell us to reset our modem. They then tell us they are upgrading computer systems so they can't access our account to credit us. It is to the point that our Internet goes out almost daily. This happens during good and bad weather and at random times throughout the day. Our cable box has had to be replaced twice already. For the amount of money i spend on this cable bill, i should be able to have reliable service. I would never recommend this company to anyone. If you have any choice at all go with another company.

I have been having the same issue i work online ive actually lost money cuz of this issue i think we should get together write to the better business buro and get a pettiton going maybebget a better company to take over that will replace towes or fix them and actually takw care of their customers...i used to have charter till i moved out of the service area *** or high water charter never cut off ever the net would slow during storms but now i deal with my net shuttin off about 200 times a day ....if any one actually wants to help me remove this company contact me at annarobin88@***.com

Worst Internet Service Ever

As I type this my connection just dropped again, for the 50th time today. It drops about every 5 minutes now. I pay for the 15mb down and 3mb up. Today I used speedtest.net which gave a result of 0.92mb down and 0.29mb up. YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY, THOSE ARE LOWER THAN 1. The max speeds I normally get are around 2mb down and .5mb up HORRIBLE. The phone support tested it and told me my connection was very bad, massive packet loss ect... They sent a tech over who tested the line once and said there was nothing he could do. He was here for 10 minutes max. Now it has gotten so bad that it constantly drops connection, so i called tech support again. First girl to answer transfers me mid sentence to another girl who yells at me for seeming agitated and then hangs up on me. WHAT THE *** I call back and get a better support person who actually laughs at the speeds I report when he asks me to speedtest.net and informs me that the signal to the modem is very bad. A tech is supposed to come tomorrow, if he does not show or do anything to fix this I am cancelling service.

Everything that can go wrong with mediacom, happens to go wrong!

We have had nothing but problems with mediacom since we started using their services! Internet is horrible. It goes out constantly. Customer service is awful! They are so rude and unhelpful. We tried getting phone service through them, and they said they couldn't because our address didn't exist, even though we already have Internet through them. They made us go through a huge process, and automated phone called us about it 3-5 times a day! This went on for nearly a month, before we finally just gave up on getting phone service. Their billing department is awful. We send payment through mail, and they claim it's late and charge us late fees all the time! Regardless of when we send it, it's always a day late! Rude customer service person told me it doesn't matter when it's post marked for, because they can't control the mail! For some reason i can send things across the country in 3-5 days but my mail a state away to mediacom always takes over a week? To top it all off, they incorrectly entered the social security number on the account, so it's a huge hassle every time we call, and they want us to travel to their out of state department to fix their error! Horrrrible company! Worst I've ever had to deal with!

Suck mediacon sucks hence the word mediaCON 10 days out for your tech to come out hhhhhmmmm but..... There just never seams to be a problem with you taking our money unfortunately I live where you are the only provider the minute we are able to switch we will and of course you will charge me and my family 200 bucks to cancel but hey not a big deal I would pay triple to can this *** service today let me in charge of your customer service for a week and I guarantee most of your issues would be gone!!! Customer service is my greatest asset with the business I run a+ rating with the bbb for a reason your *** employee that I called with his unprofessional attitude would be the first person I would fire and hey why don't you do the math cut salaries work on your *** malfunctioning equipment and put your *** in front of your own tv with some of your family and friends turn on the mighty Blackhawks and no game great time!!!!! For the love of god I would rather have the old rabbit ears with tin foil again brutal!!! That's it for now and anyone thinking about using mediacon run run far away!!!! Pissed off in Chicago !!!!

MEDIACOM deserves class action lawsuit

Mediacom's billing is OUT OF CONTROL! I contacted members on chat and via messageboard and was told that their system makes unauthorized irreversible charges, and that they do not have control over their billing system and they cannot remove charges! Stay away from mediacom. They also don't deliver reasonable uptime or speeds as advertised. I had a tech tell me that they wait for a minimum of 20-30 complaints in a neighborhood before sending maintenance to work on the lines because anything less they can afford to lose.

They sell fraudulently over the phone. Refuse to give you written contract.

Guy sold me a triple bundle and promised a sports/info package, a couple of premium movie channels, upgraded Internet, including the equipment and modem, for $150. Ridiculous $99 installation fee split over 1st 3 mo. So I write the guy a check for $186 yesterday and get NO premiums, NO sports/info package. They're charging twice as much as they told me for the Internet upgrade; the rest is equip charges and taxes the sales rep told me were included.

You can't get anywhere with the complaint; their low-level phone bank operators just stare at a computer screen that tells them what plan they've actually given you. Allegedly; there's a recording of the original sales pitch, but they're not going to look it up.

I was quoted a price for bundled service including internet and premium cable service, and was told there would be no increase for 3 years. I am being billed $30 a month more than quoted and have just been told I am being charged $20 more a month for my 2nd year and another increase of $20 a month for my 3rd year. I spoke to a customer service agent and he agreed I was lied to and that they would do nothing about it.

DO NOT USE this company! I would look for any other cable provider or Satellite company. When they put in my cable they used the old cable wires in my house and the signal was terrible. When they came out to put in new wires, they charged me $100 for a service call. When I finally terminated service with them, they charged me another $100 for a converter that I returned to the store. Customer service was horrible and was no help. again, find another company because mediacom is bad, bad, bad, bad, bad and I would never use them again!

MEDIACOM IS DISHONEST AND UNETHICAL

After weeks of failed attempts to improve very slow speeds, I was told that I would be given an upgrade to accommodate for slow internet speeds. I was told I would be upgraded to 30mpbs so I could get closer to the 15 I am signed up for. When I got my bill, it was much higher, and when I checked online I found out they had completely changed my plan and increased my rates without notifying me. They said that there is a copy of terms and agreements on their website, and that if you agree to ANYTHING over the phone then they can enforce any new terms and agreements at their discretion without your knowledge or consent. I have decided that two can play at that game. Here is my own form 4$$#0L3.553 by means of which is it clearly stated that: in the event of agreement by mediacom to cancel services wherein a subscriber was hosed over because mediacom got the ridiculous idea that if a customer agrees to anything over the phone the customer is thereby bound to contracts not presented or discussed during said conversation, mediacom will be obligated to credit back all charges and fees accrued by said customer starting from the date at which changes were made to customers account without full presentation of all terms, conditions, and additional fees. In case you can't understand all that a simplified version is: You state that if I agree to anything over the phone, then you can imply any additional charges you want if you have something in writing somewhere else. So I am saying that if you agree to anything on your messageboard, then you are bound to anything that I makeup elsewhere. You agreed to cancel my service therefor you also agree to void any charges or fees dating back to Jan 26th 2013.

I was told 8-15 days for my service call

You: My internet was installed on Monday March 4th. I called on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday because I was told that I would have to wait until the 13th to get a service rep out to repair the internet that was never installed correctly. Each time I was told that I would get a call back that day to see if they could get someone out earlier and I never received a call. This has got to be the worst experience I have ever received to get internet, phone, or TV. It seems none of your techs has any idea when or if I will get my service installed correctly. Misleading Service/Billing

I have had mediacom internet and phone which was $115.00 monthly. So they talked me into switching from DISH to cable and my total bill would be about $170.00 monthly, I am past the promtion rates. So I sign on, get a bill for $303.68. The cable rate was $25.00 more than indicated when joining, and they also added MAX for 59.95 which I never agrred to or ordered. So I called to talk about my bill and the rep said they would have to transfer to some department, which the transfer didn't go through they hung up. So I call back, same song and dance, we have to transfer but they are to busy right now, given my bill I can see why. So the rep. takes my number and says someone would call today, which of course no call.I am off to talk to Centurylink tomorrow. I'll resolve the billing issue and poor customer service by cancelling. Look I don't mind paying for a service, but these tactics in their billing is just plain wrong. I am not one to complain or write reviews, but this will happen to you if you do not getting in writing and watch your bill closely.

Terrible customer service

A technician was scheduled to come to my apartment to fix our modem and slow internet. They were scheduled between 1-5PM. They never showed. Had to reschedule for the following day from 8-12; again they never showed. Company kept re-scheduling and not informing me; this went on for three days. I called numerous times and no one could help give me a time when someone would actually show up or give me a way to get in touch with the technician directly. Internet still goes in and out and is incredibly slow. I would never recomend this company or use them ever again. Cable also seems to be unreliable.

Prices go up all the time and service is out allot of the time. Live in the pines so restricted as to who can provide service, no signal. Medicam sucks !When you call you are on hold forever and ever and ever and when you do reach customer service you are again put on hold while they look up your account. They never give you any good news or really correct the issues. And the internet OMG another story . OUT ALL THE TIME !!!!!!! NEVER ANY SIGNAL AND AGAIN WHEN YOU CALL ON HOLD FOREVER. TRY TO ANY OTHER SERVICE THIS ONE SUCKS !

Mediacom is the worst

They sold us a bundle when we moved here. What they didn't say was the phone service was through a little modem box. NONE of the phone jacks will work. We have a 4,000 sq ft house and only one phone jack in the whole house? So if the power is out-- no serve. The internet goes in and out constantly(20 times an hour always)-- it is not just the wireless. TV channels limited, one dvr box is slow, on demand doesn't always work. I signed a 2 year agreement, but if the service doesn't work properly, how can they hold me to this?

Slow Speeds

I have had problems over a year since I been with Mediacom Internet. The speeds drop down to 1 or less download it resets all the time. I have had repair here prob 5 times or more and it's the same thing every time, works great for a week and its back to the same thing. The modem has been replaced lines have been changed and other stuff has been done. I DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR REPAIR TO COME EVERY OTHER WEEK! I did sign a contract a contract to have part time Internet and I am pissed that this is a constantly on going problem.

Slow speeds and outages.

Outages every couple months. Would be on and off for up to a week. Was running good for a while from thanksgiving until mid January. I thought they have fixed their problems, but now their speeds are much slow than advertised. I am supposed to be getting 30mbps and I am getting up to 20 during the day, and down to as low as 2mbps at night. They sent techs out who said everything was fine and left without fixing anything. I called tech support back and was totally blown off and put on hold and then hung up on. I went on to message boards and was told to wait two weeks for a service upgrade. Nothing ever happened so I went back on to the message boards and was told to wait another month for more service work. They still have not promised to fix their slow and unreliable internet speeds. I wish there was another cable company to choose from but their isn't so I am stuck with them. Maybe if enough people complain then they will fix their problems.
